Procedure of deposit

1. Preparation and transport of a microorganism sample: a/ the sample should be freeze-dried, frozen, or on a culture medium,
   b/ bacteriophages should be delivered with their host strain,
   c/ samples should be protected against damage during transport and clearly labeled.
2. Completion of the form for deposit BP/1 is required: a/ there are separate forms for bacteria and bacteriophages,
   b/ all parts of the form must be completed as far as possible.
3. The PCM performs the viability testing.
4. The receipt and viability statement are issued by the PCM on forms BP/4 and BP/9.^*
5. Furnishing samples: a/ only to third parties entitled to make valid requests,
   b/ requests are required on request forms provided by the PCM,
   c/ depositors are notified on model form BP/14.
6. All the required forms are supplied by the PCM.
7. The PCM provides guidance for prospective depositors and is always ready to give advice by telephone, fax or e-mail.
